
Sunday 27th September - 50th Anniversary of St John Ogilvie Canonization - We Need You!
We are looking forward to welcoming Archbishop Cushley on Sunday 27th September to St John Ogilvie's, where he will celebrate Mass at our 10am Sunday service. This will be a very special occasion and we need your help to make it a success. You could contribute to: catering, liturgy, music, set-up (cleaning, flowers), greeting/pass keeping. Secraments of Initiation for Children for 2026/2027 – Registriation Closing 20 September
The Sacramental Programme will recommence in the autumn, with registration closing in September. The earliest that children can receive the Sacraments are:
Reconciliation P3;
First Holy Communion P4;
Confirmation P7.
Please check the Parish website for registration forms. Forms also available at the Entrance of the Church. If you have any questions, ask the pass keepers who will direct you to one of the team.
Visit of relics of St Gerard Majella
The relics of St Gerard Majella will be at St Patrick's Church, the Cowgate, Edinburgh, on Saturday 18 July. Entrance of the relics at 10:00am with devotions and talk, Exposition of Blessed Sacrament at 11:30am. Mass at 12:30pm followed by blessings with the relics
Ann Snedden, Andrew Hughes
It is with sadness that we advise of the passing of our parishioners Ann Snedden and Andrew Hughes. Ann was a former Reader at 6.30 Mass, her funeral will take place on Thursday 9 July at 12.30pm at Mortonhall Crematorium. Andrew’s funeral is to be advised. Our condolences to both families. May they rest in peace.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Fr Matthew McCafferty who was ordained to the priesthood on Friday at St Mary's in Bathgate. He will continue a further year of study in Rome before returning to minister in the Archdiocese. Please keep him in your prayers.
Sea Sunday

Brecbannoch Pilgrimage 2026
A pilgrimage to pray for the renewal of the Faith in Scotland, from 31 July to 3 August, with a walk across the Isle of Mull, returning the relics of St Columba to Iona. Discounts are available for students and under-22s, and under-5s go free. Visit www.brecbannoch.co.uk.
Lourdes Pilgrimage Welcome Mass
In preparation for the Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes (10-17 July), there will be a Mass in St Cuthbert’s, Slateford Road, Edinburgh, this Sunday (5 July) to which all are welcome. Please note this Mass will be at 3:30pm, half an hour later than previously notified.
