We are a small, multi-culture parish in the south-west of Edinburgh. We serve the areas of Baberton Mains, Calders, Clovenstone, Dumbryden, Hailesland, Murrayburn, Sighthill, Westburn and Wester Hailes and are served by Priests of the Society of the Divine Saviour (Salvatorians).
On Sunday 27 September we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the canonisation of our Parish Patron, St John Ogilvie. It was a very joyful and most enjoyable occasion. Archbishop Leo Cushley led us in Holy Mass with our parish Priest, Fr Loska as co-celebrant.
The Archbishop provided a most interesting and entertaining Homily, speaking about the life of St John Ogilvie and the links with Scots College in Rome.
After Mass we had a really splendid buffet meal with all the food having been prepared by parishioners. Archbishop Cushley remained with us for the meal and chatted with many of those present.
A big thank you to the Archbishop and to all who helped prepare and organise what was a most enjoyable celebration.

The Sacramental Programme will begin again in October. The preparation classes will be held on a Saturday morning in the church hall and are primarily for children who attend a non-Catholic school. However, children who are being prepared in their Catholic school and wish to receive the sacraments in St John Ogilvie’s church are very welcome to attend the sessions if they wish. The class dates will be issued in due course when we have confirmed class numbers. A meeting of parents will take place in the church on Wednesday 7th October at 7:00pm.

St Mary's Catholic Cathedral in Edinburgh is undertaking a project about the music of Arthur Oldham, the Cathedral's renowned choirmaster from 1956-71. To mark the centenary of his birth, the project will bring to life Oldham's music housed in the cathedral archive, including a special concert and a new CD recording. The team is keen to speak to former choristers who were part of Arthur Oldham's choir at St Mary's Cathedral, and who are willing to share their memories. The Epiphany Group is offering a course for anyone looking to develop and deepen their experience of prayer and reflective living, rooted in the Ignatian tradition.
The course will take place mainly online, with three additional in-person days in Edinburgh, running from 3 November 2026 to 16 March 2027.
Sessions take place on Tuesdays from 7:00pm–9:00pm, beginning 3 November.

LINKnet Mentoring
LINKnet is the first and the only direct mentoring organisation that is established to serve minority ethnic communities in Edinburgh, the Lothians, Scottish Borders and Fife. It was established in 2000 to serve disadvantaged ethnic minorities in their pursuit of development. Over the years thousands have taken part in various mentoring programmes, education and employment mentoring being the core programme.

For over 20 years, CAP has been providing free debt help in Scotland. CAP Scotland helps hundreds of people get out of debt every year, equipping them to withstand whatever storms may come their way in the future.
